Short Synopsis:
One of the first Japanese films to be shot in mainland China; this film, set in 733, is about a group of people who travel from Japan to China, braving the treacherous journey, seeking willing priests to go back with them to Japan to propagate Buddhism. All efforts seem to be in vain, until they meet the well respected and famous Chien Chan. Taken in by their sincerity, he agrees to go back with them. Will they reach Japan and will he be able to come back to China?
