The course will start from the 2nd week of July and will continue till 1 week of November 2014.

Japanese Language Proficiency Level
2. Course Details
Applicants must be 18 years of age or above and can communicate in English.
Starter A1 Conversation Class: Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ and V
Eligibility: Class Ⅰ, Ⅱ & Ⅲ : Those who have no prior knowledge in Japanese
Class Ⅳ & V : Those who have completed Lesson 1 to 10 of “Marugoto A1 [Activity]”
Those who have learned basic Japanese for a short time
Textbook: “Marugoto A1 -Japanese Language and Culture [Activity]”
Textbook & material fee : INR 600
Starter A1 Grammar & Script Class Ⅵ
Eligibility: Those who have completed Conversation (Starter A1)
Those who have no prior knowledge in Japanese script
Textbook: “Marugoto A1 -Japanese Language and Culture [Comprehension]”
Textbook & material fee: INR 600
Elementary A2-1 Conversation with Roman alphabet Class Ⅶ
Eligibility: Those who completed ‘Marugoto A1 [Activity]’
Those whose Japanese proficiency level is equivalent to JLPT N5 or below
Textbook: “Marugoto A2-1 – Japanese Language and Culture [Activity]”
Text book & material fee: INR 600
Elementary A2-1 Conversation, Grammar & Script Class Ⅷ
Eligibility: Those who have completed Grammer & Script (Starter A1) or equivalent
Those whose Japanese proficiency level is equivalent to JLPT N5
Textbooks: “Marugoto A2-1 -Japanese Language and Culture [Activity]”
“Marugoto A2-1 – Japanese Language and Culture [Comprehension]”
Textbook & material fee: INR 1200 (2 books)
Trial Class (Monthly 4-lesson class)
Eligibility: Those who have no prior knowledge in Japanese
This 4-lesson trial class is suitable for people who would like to learn a little bit of basic conversation in Japanese at introductory level.
There are 2 classes; ‘Trial 1: If you meet Japanese in India’ which introduces a short conversation (held in Aug, Oct, Dec & Feb)
and ‘Trial 2: Travelling in Japan’ (held in Sept, Nov, Jan & Mar). Material fee: INR 200
Theme-based Class: 「日本文学紹介」
Eligibility: to be confirmed
日本の文学について紹介します。(授業回数は4回)詳細は、後日お知らせします。関心のあるかたは、申請書にご記入ください。教材費: INR 200
3. Application and Course Fee Payment
– Please send an email to query@jfindia.org.in , call us at 2644-2967 or visit the Japan Foundation in order to obtain the Course Instruction and Application Form.
– Please fill up the Application Form and email it to the Japan Foundation at query@jfindia.org.in
– Due to class size, telephone interview will be conducted during 16 to 20 June on a first-come-first-served basis in the order of application submission. Please note that once all the seats are taken up by early-bird applicants, the telephone interview will not be conducted for the late applicants.
– Those who were selected shall come and pay the material fee at the Japan Foundation by 27 June to finalise the registration (Sat and Sun are closed). The registration of those who failed to pay the fee by the designated day will be cancelled.
Venue and class size
– Venue: The Japan Foundation, New Delhi
– Class size: 10 to 15 people
Others
– Lessons that fall on public holidays may be shifted to alternative dates.
– If you are absent for 2 or more lessons in a row, you cannot continue the course.
