Japan and India have been enjoying friendly relations for many years. We now present a photo panel exhibition portraying this relationship. We are bringing this exhibition in June to symbolize the Peace Treaty and the establishment of Diplomatic ties between Japan and India in June 1952.
This photo panel exhibition, presented by The Japan Foundation in cooperation with The Japan-India Association, includes carefully selected photos that relate the history of cultural exchange between Japan and India from the Meiji Period (1868-1912) to modern times. These photo panels are provided by The Japan-India Association established in 1903. The year 2012 was marked as the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations of Japan and India. The exhibition contain not only photographs from historical moments after Meiji Era , but also ones held in recent years.
We bring this collection in June month to symbolize the Peace Treaty and the establishment of Diplomatic ties between Japan and India in June 1952.
It is hoped that this exhibition will help to refresh the understanding of Japan-India relations.
