~ Commemorating the 10th year of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami ~
Japan Foundation New Delhi and Bookaroo Trust announce an online book reading event “Stories of Courage” on March 10th to commemorate the 10th year of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami (March 11th, 2011). Four selected picture books, which narrate stories filled with the prayers and hopes of the survivors of the disaster, will be read in Hindi by two skillful storytellers, Kapil Pandey and Priyanka Pathak. The picture books have been translated into Hindi by Delhi-based Japanese translator, Kikuchi Tomoko.
The event will be streamed from Eureka! Bookstore, the first specialist, independent, children’s bookstore in India, which was set up in April 2003 by two passionate book-lovers who felt that they should do something to get children and books together under one roof. This bookstore reopened in the M-block Market, Greater Kailash II in August 2020 after a hiatus of six years.
