The Japan Foundation is pleased to announce Japanese traditional performance “SAKURA”- multimedia stage performance dedicated to 70th Anniversary of atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
It is organized by One Asia Project in support with India International Centre and The Japan Foundation, New Delhi.
The Japanese artist Ms. Keiin Yoshimura will present Japanese traditional dance – Kamigatamai, along with Shamisen player Mr. So Sugiura. It will be a 75 min.(approx.) performance.

Keiin YOSHIMURA -Kamigatamai Dancer
Keiin Yoshimura is a performer, choreographer and art director of Kamigata-mai dance from Tokyo, an art form which opened the profound sacred dance and music to the wider public in the Edo period (1603 – 1867) in Japan.
She has learned and practiced not only Kamigata-mai but also various types of Japanese traditional culture, performances, martial arts, subtle energy practices, western traditional cultures and Yoga. kamigatamaitomonokai.org
So Sugiura – Shamisen Player/Singer
Born in Tokyo, since childhood he has studied Piano, Violin, Koto, Shamisen, Noh theatre, Calligraphy and Pottery.
He has graduated National Tokyo University of Art -Domestic Music Department and has started his career as a professional Shamisem Player and Er-hu. He is a permanent lecturer in Musashino Academia Musicae and National Saitama University.
