Japan Foundation Grants – 2023

Japan Foundation provides various grants under its three different departments of Arts and Cultural Exchange, Japanese-Language Education Overseas and Japanese Studies and Global Partnerships.

Please read the instructions for submission carefully. Applications will be accepted electronically through the Japan Foundation’s Online Application Portal.

1. Arts and Cultural Exchange:
   • Ishibashi Foundation/The Japan Foundation Fellowship for Research on Japanese Art (Deadline: 1 p.m., November 30, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))
   • Exhibitions Abroad Support Program (Deadline:1 p.m., November 30, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))
   • Support Program for Translation and Publication (Deadline: 1 p.m., November 20, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))

2. Japanese-Language Education Overseas:

1. • Support Program for Organizations in Japanese-Language Education (Grants) (Deadline: 1 p.m., November 30, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))
   • Training Program for Teachers of the Japanese Language (Deadline: 1 p.m., November 30, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))
     ( → Basic  → Japanese Language → Comprehensive Japanese Teaching Methods (Summer/Autumn)  
   • Japanese Teaching Methods Program for Teachers of Specified Skilled Worker Candidates (Deadline: 1 p.m., November 30, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))

3. Japanese Studies and Global Partnerships:

• • Japan Foundation Japanese Studies Fellowship Program (Deadline: 3 p.m., December 1, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))
  • Grant Program for Japanese Studies Projects (Deadline: 3 p.m., December 1, 2023 (Japan Standard Time))
