Aiming to further deepen the economic ties and friendly relations between India and Japan, the Mitsui & Co. Scholarship Program for India was established in 2024 to foster to India-based human resources who are both knowledgeable about and friendly toward Japan, and who have the potential to serve as a bridge between the two countries.

The program selects scholarship recipients from among Indian students and supports them for a total of 5.5 years, including a 1.5-year period of preliminary Japanese language training at a language school, followed by four years of undergraduate study at a renowned university of their choice in Japan.
