The Japan Foundation presents a demonstration and workshop on Suiboku. It is not a mere technique of painting but the way how man realizes the world and present it. This media represents the spiritual & cultural background as one of the artistic expressions of the East.

The demonstration and experience at the workshop showcases the traditional method of Suiboku as a contemporary expression. The materials involved in Suiboku are black ink (Sumi), water and rice paper. The attempt is to provide an opportunity to understand the relationship between art and Japanese culture through the visual/spiritual experience.
