Grand Prize awarded to Mr. Palagummi Sainath

Secretariat of the Fukuoka Prize Committee announced that the Grand Prize goes to an Indian journalist Mr. Palagummi Sainath. He has been long committed to impoverished farming villages in India to make good report on ‘rural stories.’ As one of the most influential public intellectuals in Asia, Mr. Sainath also participated in Asia Leadership Fellow Program in 2003 to share knowledge and wisdom with other fellows and Japanese public.

On September 29^th, Mr. Sainath will be invited to attend the Award Ceremony online. And his public lecture is also planned online on October 13^th. You can join and view these events with advance booking and please follow our further updates.
