The Japan Foundation, New Delhi, is pleased to present a special exhibition on “Indian Deities Worshipped in Japan”
Exhibition Details
Deities we have practically forgotten in India, such as Vayu and Varuna are still worshipped in Japan. There are hundreds of shrines of goddess Saraswati and god Ganesha. There are deep meanings in Japanese practices which take us back to early developments of philosophy in India. Our relationship with Japan is far closer than Indian seems to be aware of. It is time to understand this and to build upon it.
